West Bend Insurance is Involved in Their Community

Community Involvement

West Bend is blessed with kind-hearted and generous associates. They care about each other and their communities. So it's a natural part of our culture to not only encourage our associates to volunteer, but to provide them with opportunities to do so.

Each year, dozens of associates spend a full day building homes for Habitat for Humanity. Many of them participate in our local United Way campaign by generously donating to the cause. In fact, because of our associates' generosity, West Bend consistently meets or exceeds our United Way fundraising goals!

Associates also participate in events like the Boys and Girls Club 5K for Kids and the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life by joining the West Bend team and raising pledges for these very worthy causes. For the past 25 years, associates have "adopted" families in need during the holidays, donating money for toys, food, and gift cards. Today, West Bend associates help ease the burden and make the holidays brighter for many area families.

In the past two years, West Bend associates raised funds for two local organizations while showcasing their talents. Silver Lining Idol, held in February-March 2010, raised $16,000 for the Albrecht Free Clinic! In June 2011, West Bend's Got Talent raised $5,500 for the MACC Fund! It's not easy to get up in front of hundreds of your fellow coworkers and sing, dance, or play an instrument. But West Bend's associates came through once again, and their fellow associates responded with their typical generous spirit.

We're especially proud of the way our associates use their ingenuity and hard work to raise funds for causes that are close to them. Family members, friends, even strangers in need have all benefitted from West Bend's Jeans Days Program in which associates make a minimum donation to wear jeans one day each week for a month. But jeans days aren't the only game in town. Associates constantly find other ways to raise funds like bake sales, car washes, and silent auctions.

On a corporate level, West Bend supports many causes and charities in southeast Wisconsin and beyond. The West Bend Charitable Trust was established in 1995 and has provided more than $1.8 million to organizations within Wisconsin’s borders. Beneficiaries of the Trust include the United Way, American Cancer Society, American Red Cross, the MACC Fund and many other locally-operated, non-profit organizations.

West Bend associates don't just know what it means to help a friend in need, they live it each day.
