As senior vice president and chief human resources officer at West Bend Insurance Company, Dee Brown is helping build the organizational capabilities needed to support the company’s long-term growth, according to Shelley McGrew, corporate communications manager at West Bend.
“Recognizing that technology alone would not transform the organization, Brown has focused on preparing associates for the future of work by strengthening adaptability, continuous learning and workforce readiness while helping employees confidently embrace AI-enabled ways of working,” McGrew said. “Her approach encourages associates to see change not as disruption, but as an opportunity.”
Under her leadership, the West Bend-based company launched a Copilot learning series, introducing more than 1,600 associates to hands-on AI skill development through self-paced resources, guided exercises and collaborative learning experiences.
The initiative encourages responsible AI use while strengthening critical thinking, decision-making and productivity, positioning AI as a tool that enhances, not replaces, human expertise. Brown’s work extends beyond technology adoption. She has aligned human resources learning and leadership development efforts to help associates navigate an increasingly dynamic workplace.
