West Bend Insurance Company announced a strategic realignment of its executive leadership, effective July 1, 2025. This alignment is designed to position the company for scalable, long-term growth and greater agility in today’s evolving insurance landscape. “We’ve been working hard for the past year on our strategy and are very excited about our future,” said Rob Jacques, president and CEO. “The key is now to execute effectively, and this structure we believe best positions us to do that.”
Marc Emery promoted to SVP-Chief Underwriting Officer. In his new role, Marc will oversee both the Commercial Enterprise and Personal Lines divisions. Since joining West Bend in 2015, Marc has played a pivotal role in the success of the Commercial Enterprise segment, most recently serving as Vice President – Commercial Enterprise. This expanded leadership position creates a more cohesive and efficient alignment across all underwriting teams and strengthens West Bend’s ability to deliver value-driven underwriting solutions to its agents and policyholders
Kelly Tighe assumes role of SVP-Chief Marketing & Sales Officer. This change reflects an expanded role that brings together the company’s marketing and sales functions. This integration will allow for more coordinated strategies and delivery across channels, supporting West Bend’s long-term vision. Kelly joined the company in 1999 and has led the sales team since 2008. His leadership has been instrumental in expanding West Bend’s presence through strong relationships with its independent agency partners.
Jim Schwalen named SVP-Chief Strategy Officer. In this newly established position, Jim will partner closely with the executive team to lead enterprise-level strategic initiatives critical to West Bend’s future. A company veteran since 1996, Jim has held numerous leadership roles overseeing personal lines, marketing, and corporate strategy. His deep institutional knowledge and forward-thinking approach will guide the organization as it executes on an ambitious roadmap for innovation and growth.
Dave Ertmer will continue in his role as Chief Operating Officer, responsible for operations and claims. Both Marc Emery and Kelly Tighe will now report to Dave as part of the newly streamlined organizational structure. These changes underscore West Bend’s strategic focus on building a more agile, efficient, and scalable leadership model that aligns with its core values and long-term objectives.
