WEST BEND, WI (October 2, 2020) – On behalf of the Cedar Rapids independent insurance agencies who represent them, West Bend Mutual Insurance Company was honored to make a $25,000 donation to the Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation. The donation, which came in the form of a grant from the West Bend Independent Agents’ Fund, will be used by local organizations that are still working hard to provide relief to the many citizens affected by the August derecho.
“West Bend has been serving Iowa residents and business owners for decades,” said Kelly Tighe, West Bend Senior Vice President – Sales. “After the storm ravaged parts of the state this summer, our claims team worked hard – and continues to work hard – to help those policyholders in need. We felt, however, that it was important to do more, so after talking to some Cedar Rapids agents, we determined we could best serve the city and surrounding area by making a donation to the Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation. We’re honored to do so."
