Kate Dempster recently joined the West Bend Insurance Company leadership team as assistant vice president – claims legal.
Kate is a highly accomplished insurance legal specialist with 18 years of insurance experience and a proven track record across industry-leading organizations. Most recently, she served as a coverage litigation specialist at Beazley Insurance Companies, where she coordinated global coverage litigation, spearheaded innovative claims transformation initiatives, and developed best practices in data protection, litigation management, and internal procedures.
Prior to Beazley, Kate held several leadership roles at EMC Insurance Companies. While there, she successfully managed the most complex claims nationally and led teams specializing in litigation, coverage, and claims legal matters. Her contributions included launching new claims procedures, advancing predictive modeling, automating processes, and delivering impactful training programs.
Kate has a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from the University of Dayton and a Juris Doctor degree from Loyola University Chicago Law School. She’s also earned the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Associate in Claims (AIC) designations.
