  • Poor visibility;
  • Blowing and drifting snow;
  • Black ice; and
  • Phantom shoulder.

Kevin Greenwald, a retired police officer and driving instructor at Road America, discusses winter hazards and how to handle your vehicle when encountering them.

Remember, to drive safely this winter you should be proactive.

  • Slow down;
  • Reduce your steering inputs; and
  • Be aware of hazards that don’t exist at any other time of the year.
