Happy 40th Anniversary to Linda!  Here is her story...

Yes, 40 years ago, on June 14, 1977, I started as a 17 year- old Slinger High School graduate and typed IM floaters. I worked in Agent’s Service, typing, then moved to data entry on one of 8 CRT (dumb terminals, meaning no output, only entry), became a supervisor, then moved to personal lines underwriting and supervising. After 15 years of personal lines, I entered the commercial underwriting training group with 3 young college graduates. That’s when my hair turned gray. After 16 years in CL underwriting, I joined the fabulous marketing team, and here is where I plan to finish my career, somewhere down the road…

This awesome group of associates biked into work and do quite frequently!  

In honor of wellness month, over 200 associates participated in the annual Steiner Stomp on the prairie trails.  It was a gorgeous day to get out and get moving!

We finished up another successful campaign to help support UPAF.  We were able to purchase root beer floats, contribute to a 50/50 raffle, participate in a silent auction, get a free dance lesson from Dance Works Milwaukee and more!  

In recognition of earning 2nd place in The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s Top Workplaces and for being in the top 3 for the last 6 years in a row, West Bend is giving all associates an additional holiday. Amazing! Thank you!

As part of our fundraising week for the United Performing Arts Fund, officers were selling root beer floats for $5 with all proceeds going to UPAF!  Yum!

Congratulations to Nancy, senior personal lines underwriter, as she retires today after 34 years at West Bend! We wish you the best today and always!
